The FRC Emergency First Aid 8 h online course is more extensive in scope, covering, for example, first aid for sudden illnesses, such as stroke, chest pain or low blood sugar. Both the FRC Emergency First Aid 4 h and the FRC Emergency First Aid 8 h online courses cover emergency first aid topics through interactive and independent exercises.
The contents of the FRC Emergency First Aid 4 h® webinar -course are based on the international and national first aid and resuscitation guidelines and experiential learning.

Ensure that you have selected a Red Cross-certified FRC Emergency First Aid course, which will give you a Red Cross first aid certificate. Certified training can be recognised by official course title and by the course sign.
You will be sent an e-mail with the online course code and an invitation to the training platform. Select the language of the online course when signing in. If you wish to update the validity of your FRC First Aid Course EA 1® or FRC First Aid Course EA 2® qualification for the next three years (possible only once), sign in with the same email address you used previously.
You have the option to complete the course in parts: you may pause the online training and pick up where you left off at a later time. Your progress will be saved in your profile.

The FRC Emergency First Aid 4 h online course is intended for anyone who needs to learn how to act in emergency first aid situations at home, in their free time and at work. You can take part in the first aid course without prior first aid training.
The topics of the FRC Emergency First Aid 8 h online course cover responding to an emergency situation, life-threatening situations, unconsciousness and first aid for an unconscious person, unresponsiveness and first aid for an unresponsive and not breathing casualty, the use of a defibrillator as a part of resuscitation, suffocation, severe bleeding and shock, and first aid for sudden illnesses. The course also covers wounds, burns and electrical accidents, which are discussed in accordance with the first aid training requirements set by the Electrical Work Safety standard. In addition, the course briefly discusses psychological first aid, promotion of health, accident prevention and factors related to preparedness.
You can complete either the FRC Emergency First Aid 4 h or FRC Emergency First Aid 8 h course to update your valid FRC First Aid Course EA 1® and FRC First Aid Course EA 2® qualification once for another three years.
The FRC first aid certificate is valid for three years. The completion of each course is recorded in the competence register at oma.ensiaputodistus.fi, where the mobile certificate is also stored. It is also possible to get a physical certificate card after the successful completion of an online course.
With the FRC Emergency First Aid 4 h® webinar -course you can update a FRC First Aid Course EA 1® or FRC First Aid Course EA 2® one time for the upcoming three years.
